Antonietta Collins

Antonietta Toni Gonzalez Collins, also known as Antonietta Gonzalez-Collins in both the US as well as Mexico, is an American Mexican sportscaster. She works for ESPN and is an SportsCenter anchor for news. She started working at ESPN in 2016. She is the daughter television journalist Maria Antonieta Collins. Antonietta was bilingual from when she was nine years old. The ability that helped her get her first position as an Univision Production Assistant in Miami. She collaborated with producers for national shows such as Nuestra Belleza Latina Premios Lo Nuestro Premios Juventud Primer Impacto. Then, in St. Petersburg, she was later employed as a reporter by the CBS station to work as a sports journalist. In 2009, she relocated from Texas in the Rio Grande Valley where she became a news correspondent at KNVO TV 48 Univision. In 2009, she moved into Rio Grande Valley, Texas in which she was a reporter for KNVO 48 Univision as well as Fox2 News. Also, she was often requested to fill in as an anchor for weather and sports. Deportes 23 was Univision Dallas affiliate where she took on additional responsibilities. She produced pieces about the Major League Baseball's ALDS ALCS and World Series the Dallas Cowboys the NBA postseason and Finals FC Dallas and the Dallas Stars. In addition she also co-hosted and produced Univision 23's Accion Deportiva Extra local sports show. The show was made a sports anchor on Despierta America Deportes' morning show. She served in the same capacity as the show's magazine Primer Impacto and for UniMas Network's Contacto Deportivo. Antonietta Collins was born in Veracruz Mexico. She was born November 22, 1985 in Mexico City. There is a sister. In 1992 the family left Mexico for the US and eventually settled in Miami. In 1992, her parents divorced soon after. In 1995, she remarried Fabio Fajardo, an engineer in the naval sector who died in 2006 from kidney cancer. When on vacation, Antonietta stayed at the house of her sister Canton Ohio. Her older Collins sibling had recently gotten an offer to work. Still a senior in high school but with a clear idea what she wanted to do in her future, Antonietta went to at the University of Mount Union to assess if it suited her needs. It was an amazing campus. The university also provided her with the program she was interested in. She completed her schooling and was admitted to the university for a master's degree in media studies. Mark Bergmann, her professor who was also WRMU's 91.1FM station for which she worked for many years, became a friend. Her professor urged her to have self-confidence and was greatly moved by his enthusiasm for journalism.
